This is the good luck soap. Didn't you know that? Spiritually, Brazilwood is. The tree produces the hardest wood. The wood has been known for handcrafting violins. It apparently has unique energies and contributions to promoting positive Chi flow.
Brazilwood's natural dye ranges from yellow to red. It is the most fascinating things I've come across recently.
When mixed with lye, it makes the lye water purple. When mixed with oils, etc, it can be yellow. It can also produce a light pink.
Sappanwood, as it's also called, is high in tannins. All plants, I learned moons ago, contain many different constituents, all amazing, but not all contain tannins. Tannins are in grapes = wine for their colour, the indigo plant was used in Levi's jeans for their distinctive blue, and the list goes on.
Nature is beautiful.
Brazilwood is antimicrobial, antibacterial, hepatoprotective and anti-acne activity, and can help with skin infections.
